Warwick's Josiah Norton was the key force behind a Raider boys volleyball team that strutted to an unlikely 22-1 start to reach the #3 spot in the 757Teamz.com final rankings last fall.
Grafton's Kenzie Smith was a 6-1 force of nature for the Grafton girls' volleyball team that held down the top spot in the same rankings for most of the season before getting upended in the VHSL state semifinals.
Now both have another title -- All-Peninsula Players of the Year, as selected from the data used to determine the All-Tidewater teams earlier this week.
Girls Player of the Year - Kenzie Smith - Smith, a senior, paced the Clippers with 352 kills and 92 blocks while leading Grafton to a 24-1 mark. Smith was named first-team All-Tidewater, as well as all-Region 4A.
