Bohanon and Bonner Named Second Team All-CAA Softball

HAMPTON, Va. (May 5, 2026) … The Coastal Athletic Association announced its 2026 All-CAA teams on Tuesday afternoon and Hampton had a pair of second-team honorees in sophomore Riley Bohanon and senior Carmynn Bonner.



Bohanon earned the honors at first base, while Bonner was one of the outfield selections in the voting done by the league coaches. Those two join Taylor Ivey in earning postseason honors from the CAA as Ivey was an All-Rookie team selection in 2023.

A sophomore from Farmington Hills, Mich., Bohanon turned it on once conference play began finishing the year with the second highest average on the team at .368. She had 39 hits, four doubles, one triple and scored 15 runs on the year. In CAA play, she had the highest batting average on the team (.394) and was tops in hits (26) and doubles (3) as she raised her average over 150 points in league action.

Bohanon finished the season on a nine-game hitting streak and had 11 multi-hit games. She was a season-best 4-for-5 against Charleston (4/18) and had three hits against UMES (March 24), at N.C. A&T (3/29) and at George Mason (4/21).

Bonner, a Dayton, Ohio native, finished an outstanding career becoming the 15th player in program history to drive in 100 runs in a career driving in a run against Campbell in game one of a doubleheader on April 25.  On the season she finished with a .409 batting average and was in the top 15 in the CAA in slugging percentage (.617), OPS (1.057), hits (52), doubles (10), RBIs (31) and on-base percentage (.440).

She finished the year with 11 multi-hit games, 10 multi-RBI games and had a nine-game hitting streak while reaching base in 13 straight games which were all tops on the team. Bonner was 4-for-4 against Campbell (3/8) and drove in five runs with a home run against S.C. State (2/13). Making her mark in the record books, Bonner finished in the career top 10 in eight different categories including doubles (3rd/45), hits (5th/196) and games started (T4th/181).
